Edie Britt: The Vixen Housewife

Edie Britt (played by Nicollette Sheridan) is certainly the most scandulous of the ‘housewives’ but alas we shall (spoiler) hear from her no more. I was in Mexico and therefore didn’t catch the last episode until this evening (cheers to one of the most wonderful modern inventions; the DVR) Although she was infamous for stealing other women’s men she certainly had a soft spot when it came down to it (at least I like to think so). I didn’t see how she could have survived last episode’s car crash AND electrocution but all hope has been lost as the remaining women of Wisteria Lane set out in this weeks recap to scatter her ashes (and speak with Edie’s estranged son Travers) reflecting on her life during the four hour car ride.

“It’s gone by so quickly,” Edie said sadly of her youth. “All the makeup and dim lighting in the world can’t seem to stop it. Ever sine I was a child, I’ve known that I was never going to see 50. A voice in my head said, ‘Live it up today, because there’s not going to be a lot of tomorrows.’” She revealed she appreciated her life in a way that “most people don’t.”

As a farewell, Lynette suggests they each say one word that sums up how they felt about her. “Edie Britt was sexy,” says Gabrielle. “Perceptive,” says Bree. “Strong,” is the word Lynette chooses. “Beautiful,” says Karen. “I need four words,” Susan says. “One of a kind.”
