What: The event was to raise funding and awareness for the poor in Africa, through services that promote HEALTH, provide EDUCATION, tackle POVERTY, provide HOMES (Shelter) to the homeless, and support ORPHANS and vulnerable children among the very poor communities.

Who: The guest list included host and Supermodel, Heidi Albertsen, Co-host Russell Simmons with his girlfriend/model, Julie Henderson and Miss Tanzania.

Update: This week has been a crazy week as far as events go but I really wanted to spend some time on this particular event because I truly believe that it is for a great cause! As you can imagine, there are an incredible amount of charity events that occur each night in NYC and there are countless charities that exist – all hoping to spread the word and raise awareness for their particular cause.

The Life Project for Africa is an organization which has evolved out of the pure passion for helping individuals in the world who desperately need our help. The organization does not just offer food and supplies to these individuals but offers an invaluable education so that they can ultimately provide basic necessities for themselves and their families.

At the event, I was able to take some video of  supermodel/actress, Heidi Albertsen, speaking about her role as Chief Ambassador and Fundraiser/Event Organizer for Life Project for Africa. She shares with us how she was influenced to be a part of such a noble cause: (watch here)

The event was interesting in so many ways! From the enormous eagle to the silent auction, there was plenty for guests to feast their eyes upon. Just outside the event were full replicas of the Batmobile and the Green Hornet’s Black Beauty (See the pictures above) which were also being auctioned off at CharityBuzz.com

All proceeds were to help support the charity which is currently looking to support the NJIA Health Center in Tanzania.
