Now that her role on Melrose Place has ended, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz is returning to the stage to reclaim her role as Roxie Hart in the the musical, Chicago.
She can sing, she can dance and Ashlee is super excited to be taking back her role on Broadway:
“I’m honored to be reprising my role as Chicago’s Roxie Hart, returning to the stage and joining this amazing cast,” she says. “Being on Broadway is a childhood dream come true.”
The singer-turned-actress-turned Broadway star, is doing quite well for being only 25! Happily married to Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz and mother to their son Bronx Mowgli, Ashlee has come a long way from being Jessica Simpson’s little sister. Remember, this is the girl who was berated for lip-synching on Saturday Night Live in 2004 and then booed after her performance at the halftime show for the 2005 Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida.
Ashlee Simpson-Wentz is a fighter and she was determined to keep going when it seemed that everyone was ready to watch her fall. Her hard work has paid off and Ashlee deserves credit for picking herself up and believing in herself when it seemed that no one else did.
